Position Summary:

We are in search of a proficient Geotechnical Field Engineer with 5-8 years of experience and a Professional Engineer (PE) license. This role involves managing and supervising geotechnical investigations and construction initiatives. The successful candidate will possess a robust background in field operations, technical assessments, and client engagement, which are essential for ensuring the safety, stability, and sustainability of our projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Site Investigation & Analysis: Execute field investigations to evaluate soil conditions, groundwater levels, and subsurface characteristics. Oversee field testing, including soil sampling and in-situ tests.
  • Geotechnical Design Support: Offer technical assistance for geotechnical design tasks, such as foundation design and slope stability. Collaborate with design engineers to incorporate field data into design solutions.
  • Project Management: Handle multiple projects concurrently, ensuring timely delivery within budget constraints. Liaise with project managers, contractors, and stakeholders to achieve project goals.
  • Technical Reporting: Generate comprehensive geotechnical reports and documentation, detailing site investigation results, laboratory test outcomes, and recommendations. Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and client specifications.
  • Quality Assurance: Supervise construction activities to guarantee adherence to geotechnical specifications and standards. Conduct site inspections and oversee geotechnical construction processes, addressing any arising issues.
  • Client Interaction: Communicate effectively with clients to understand their requirements, provide technical insights, and present findings and recommendations. Build strong client relationships through effective communication and project management.
  • Health & Safety: Follow safety protocols and ensure that all fieldwork and construction activities comply with health and safety regulations.
  • Mentorship: Guide and mentor junior engineers and field personnel, fostering professional growth and technical proficiency.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Geotechnical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • 5-8 years of pertinent experience in geotechnical field engineering.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license is mandatory.
  • Strong grasp of geotechnical engineering principles, soil mechanics, and field testing methodologies.
  • Proficient in geotechnical software and data analysis tools.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Demonstrated capability to manage projects, meet deadlines, and collaborate effectively within a team.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Valid driver's license and readiness to travel to project sites as necessary.
