Position Summary:
We are in search of a proficient Geotechnical Field Engineer with 5-8 years of relevant experience and a Professional Engineer (PE) license. This role is essential for overseeing geotechnical investigations and construction initiatives, ensuring the safety and integrity of our projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Site Assessment: Execute field investigations to evaluate soil conditions, groundwater levels, and subsurface characteristics. Supervise field testing activities, including soil sampling and in-situ assessments.
- Design Assistance: Offer technical support for geotechnical design tasks, such as foundation design and slope stability analysis. Collaborate with design teams to incorporate field data into design solutions.
- Project Oversight: Manage multiple projects concurrently, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget. Liaise with project managers, contractors, and stakeholders to achieve project goals.
- Technical Documentation: Generate comprehensive geotechnical reports and documentation, detailing site investigation results, laboratory findings, and recommendations. Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and client specifications.
- Quality Control: Supervise construction activities to guarantee adherence to geotechnical specifications. Conduct site inspections and oversee construction processes, addressing any arising issues.
- Client Engagement: Interact with clients to ascertain their requirements, provide technical guidance, and present findings. Build and maintain strong client relationships through effective communication.
- Safety Compliance: Follow safety protocols and ensure that all fieldwork and construction activities align with health and safety regulations.
- Mentorship Role: Mentor junior engineers and field personnel, fostering professional growth and technical proficiency.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Geotechnical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline.
- 5-8 years of pertinent experience in geotechnical field engineering.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license is mandatory.
- Solid understanding of geotechnical engineering principles, soil mechanics, and field testing methodologies.
- Proficient in geotechnical software and data analysis tools.
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Demonstrated capability to manage projects, meet deadlines, and collaborate effectively within a team.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and meticulous attention to detail.
