Job Overview

Position: Payroll and Benefits Specialist

Salary: $45,000 - $50,000

Work Arrangement: Hybrid

Key Responsibilities:
  • Utilize technological tools to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the payroll and benefits processes.
  • Determine the most effective methods for task completion.
  • Prepare and manage documentation by formatting, inputting, editing, retrieving, copying, printing, and transmitting text, data, and graphics using various office software applications.
  • Possess knowledge of payroll and benefits processes to ensure accurate preparation of employee documents and adherence to deadlines.
  • Coordinate e-filing and manage filings as required.
  • Handle incoming and outgoing correspondence, including mail and faxes.
  • Ensure proper filing and organization of documents in both digital and physical formats.
  • Maintain the daily schedules of relevant personnel, including appointments and travel arrangements.
  • Support the payroll team with timesheet management and billing inquiries.
  • Request reimbursements for payroll-related expenses through appropriate channels.
  • Foster positive relationships with clients and stakeholders, demonstrating discretion and sound judgment.
  • Exhibit regular and predictable attendance, with flexibility to accommodate business needs.
Qualifications:
  • A minimum of a high school diploma or GED is required; an associate degree or relevant certification is preferred. Significant experience may substitute for educational requirements.
  • 3-5+ years of experience in payroll and benefits administration is preferred.
Required Skills:
  • Proficient in office software applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and PDF.
  • Understanding of payroll practices, terminology, and procedures.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in a professional environment.
  • Flexible and solutions-oriented, capable of managing multiple priorities.
  • Strong typing, spelling, grammar, proofreading, and clerical skills.
  • Ability to organize and maintain files and records efficiently.
  • Competence in operating standard office equipment.
