The Payroll and Benefits Manager will be responsible for managing payroll and benefits operations across various locations. This role reports directly to the CFO and is crucial in ensuring precise payroll processing while adhering to all applicable federal, state, and local regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee bi-weekly payroll processing using Paycor for multiple markets.
  • Manage benefit programs, including medical, dental, vision, COBRA, ancillary benefits, and retirement plans, ensuring compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.
  • Provide guidance to employees and management regarding eligibility, coverage, and other benefit-related inquiries.
  • Facilitate the annual open enrollment process, including planning, vendor collaboration, communication, system updates, and post-enrollment audits.
  • Reconcile invoices from benefits vendors.
  • Address payroll data requests from employees, agencies, and auditors.
  • Ensure compliance with tax regulations and execute legally required deductions.
  • Work closely with the finance department to ensure accurate reconciliation and recording of payroll transactions.
  • Maintain adherence to payroll-related laws and regulations.
  • Assist with unemployment claims by preparing necessary documentation.
  • Support integration efforts for new acquisitions, ensuring smooth transitions of benefit policies and HRIS.
  • Lead initiatives aimed at enhancing payroll processing efficiency and accuracy through best practices.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or Organizational Development.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in payroll and benefits, preferably within a residential services environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, HRIS, and records management tools.
  • Strong understanding of multi-state payroll tax laws, unemployment regulations, and wage-hour laws.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage with all organizational levels and influence decision-makers.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
