Position Overview

Abacus Technology Corporation is in search of a Logistics Subject Matter Expert specializing in Operational and Commercial sectors to deliver acquisition support for defense systems. This is a full-time role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support sustainment teams through data evaluation, acquisition oversight, procurement, and management of essential logistics data related to critical assets, spare parts, tooling, and other materials.
  • Facilitate the planning, organization, and management of vital components in the development, production, and deployment of capabilities, adhering to DoD, USAF, and local logistics policies and financial data requirements.
  • Coordinate all logistics elements, including spares, support equipment, training, facilities, technical documentation, and provisioning to ensure all integrated logistics support requirements are identified and tailored to meet the directorate's needs.
  • Participate in integrated logistics support management team meetings, program management reviews, and other relevant discussions.
  • Assist in developing integrated support requirements for system and equipment design, conducting specialized analyses on total life cycle costs, logistics supportability, and warranty issues, while providing technical assistance and consultancy.
  • Analyze configuration, deliveries, and deficiencies, and assist with the integration of training system requirements into production program plans and documentation.
  • Conduct comprehensive analyses to identify problems, define alternative solutions, and provide recommended actions along with written reports.
  • Support the evaluation of logistics alternatives, perform trade-off analyses between support concepts, and operational concepts.
  • Identify requirements for manuals related to military use of commercial maintenance, repair, service, and flight manuals; oversee the printing and distribution of technical orders and updates; and monitor technical compliance.
  • Conduct site surveys to ascertain requirements for operational facilities and prepare facility requirements plans.
  • Engage in the planning, development, implementation, and management of a comprehensive and effective systems support strategy.
  • Assist in the development of transportation plans and the defense transportation system process.
  • Manage the total life cycle logistics support for assigned weapon systems or subsystems, integrating supply, maintenance, procurement, and quality assurance functions.
  • Monitor compliance with milestones and performance criteria.
  • Continuously evaluate the effectiveness of program support across all functional areas to ensure adequate support plans and accurate schedules.
  • Assist in the planning and coordination of system acquisitions and their transition into operational use.
  • Contribute to the development of logistics support and maintainability programs as well as systems acquisition requirements analysis.

Qualifications

15+ years of experience in supporting acquisition programs, with a minimum of 5 years in DoD programs. A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field is required. Proficient knowledge and experience in acquisition logistics policies and procedures related to Air Force systems and equipment procurement activities. Familiarity with software development, sustainment, and depot avionics testing and repair is essential. Understanding of ILS planning, development, and execution theories is necessary to coordinate and integrate functions into a structured program. Must possess a solid grasp of contractual processes and technical requirements. Demonstrated knowledge of logistics and maintainability programs, including product support and life cycle cost analysis. Experience with military aircraft sustainment management and commercial derivative aircraft logistics processes is preferred. Must be a U.S. citizen and hold a current Secret clearance.
