Position Overview

Abacus Technology Corporation is in search of a Logistics Subject Matter Expert to deliver acquisition support for defense systems. This is a full-time opportunity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support sustainment teams through data evaluation, acquisition oversight, procurement, and related logistics information for essential assets, spare parts, tooling, and materials.
  • Assist in the planning, organization, and management of critical elements in the development, production, and deployment of capabilities, adhering to DoD, USAF, and local logistics policies and financial data requirements.
  • Coordinate logistics components, including spares, support equipment, training, facilities, technical documentation, and provisioning to meet integrated logistics support needs.
  • Participate in integrated logistics support management meetings, program reviews, and other relevant discussions.
  • Contribute to the development of integrated support requirements for system design, readiness objectives, and conduct analyses on life cycle costs and logistics supportability.
  • Analyze configuration, deliveries, and deficiencies while integrating training system requirements into production plans and documentation.
  • Assist in evaluating logistics challenges, defining alternative solutions, and providing written recommendations.
  • Support the evaluation of logistics alternatives and perform trade-off analyses between support concepts and operational strategies.
  • Identify requirements for manuals related to military use of commercial maintenance and service documentation, including tracking technical compliance.
  • Conduct site assessments to determine pre-operational and post-operational facility requirements.
  • Engage in the planning, development, and management of a comprehensive systems support strategy.
  • Assist in developing transportation plans and navigating the defense transportation system processes.
  • Coordinate cradle-to-grave life cycle logistics support for assigned weapon systems, integrating supply, maintenance, procurement, and quality assurance functions.
  • Monitor compliance with milestones and performance metrics.
  • Evaluate program support effectiveness across all functional areas to ensure adequate support plans and accurate schedules.
  • Assist in the planning and coordination of major systems acquisition and transition into operational use.
  • Support the development of logistics support and maintainability programs, as well as systems acquisition requirements analysis.

Qualifications

15+ years of experience in acquisition program support, including a minimum of 5 years with DoD programs. A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field is required. Extensive knowledge of acquisition logistics policies and procedures related to Air Force systems and equipment procurement is essential. Familiarity with software development, sustainment, and avionics testing is necessary. Understanding of ILS planning and execution principles is crucial for coordinating and integrating functions into a cohesive program. Knowledge of contractual processes and technical requirements is expected. Experience with logistics and maintainability programs, including product support and life cycle cost analysis, is important. Candidates should have operational experience in supply chain management and equipment specialist roles. Must be a U.S. citizen and possess a current Secret clearance.
