Position Overview

Abacus Technology Corporation is looking for a Logistics Subject Matter Expert to deliver acquisition support for defense systems. This is a full-time opportunity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support sustainment teams through comprehensive data analysis, acquisition management, procurement, and logistics data concerning critical assets, spare parts, tooling, and related materials.
  • Assist in the planning, organization, and management of essential elements in the development, production, and deployment of capabilities, adhering to DoD, USAF, and local logistics policies and financial data requirements.
  • Coordinate logistics components including spares, support equipment, training, facilities, technical documentation, and provisioning to ensure all integrated logistics support needs are identified and customized for the directorate.
  • Participate in integrated logistics support management team meetings, program management reviews, and other relevant discussions.
  • Contribute to the development of integrated support requirements for system and equipment design, readiness objectives, and specialized analyses on life cycle costs and logistics supportability.
  • Analyze configuration, deliveries, and deficiencies while assisting with the integration of training system requirements into production plans and documentation.
  • Support a full range of logistics actions to analyze issues, define alternatives, recommend solutions, and provide detailed reports.
  • Evaluate support alternatives and perform trade-off analyses between support concepts and operational strategies.
  • Assist in identifying requirements for manuals, arranging for printing and distribution, and tracking technical compliance.
  • Conduct site surveys to assess requirements for operational facilities and prepare facility requirements plans.
  • Engage in the planning, development, implementation, and management of effective systems support strategies.
  • Provide assistance in developing transportation plans and navigating the defense transportation system process.
  • Manage and coordinate comprehensive life cycle logistics support for assigned weapon systems, integrating supply, maintenance, procurement, and quality assurance functions.
  • Monitor compliance with milestones and performance criteria across functional areas.
  • Continuously evaluate program support status and effectiveness to ensure accurate scheduling and support plans.
  • Assist in the planning and coordination of major systems acquisition and transition into operational use.
  • Contribute to the development of logistics support and maintainability programs, along with systems acquisition requirements analysis.

Qualifications

15+ years of experience in acquisition program support, including a minimum of 5 years with DoD programs. A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field is required. Strong knowledge of acquisition logistics philosophy, policies, and procedures related to Air Force systems and equipment procurement. Familiarity with software development, sustainment, and depot avionics testing and repair is essential. Understanding of ILS planning and execution is necessary to coordinate and integrate functions into a cohesive program. Must possess a solid grasp of contractual processes and technical requirements. Demonstrated knowledge of logistics and maintainability programs, including product support and life cycle cost analysis. Experience with military aircraft operations and depot maintenance is preferred. Must be a U.S. citizen and hold a current Secret clearance.
