Abacus Technology Corporation is in search of a Logistics Subject Matter Expert to deliver acquisition support for defense systems. This role is integral to our operations and is a full-time opportunity.
Key Responsibilities
- Support sustainment teams through comprehensive data analysis, acquisition management, procurement, and logistics data related to critical assets, spare parts, tooling, and associated materials.
- Facilitate the planning, organization, and management of vital aspects concerning the development, production, and deployment of capabilities, adhering to DoD, USAF, and local logistics policies and financial data requirements.
- Coordinate all logistics components, including spares, support equipment, training, facilities, technical documentation, and provisioning to ensure that all integrated logistics support requirements are accurately identified and customized to meet the directorate's needs.
- Participate in integrated logistics support management team meetings, program management reviews, and other relevant discussions.
- Assist in developing integrated support requirements for system and equipment design, ensuring alignment with readiness objectives and conducting specialized analyses on total life cycle costs and logistics supportability.
- Analyze configuration, deliveries, and deficiencies while assisting with the integration of training system requirements into production program plans and documentation.
- Provide comprehensive analyses to identify problems, propose alternative solutions, and deliver detailed reports on recommended actions.
- Evaluate support alternatives and perform trade-off analyses between support concepts and operational strategies.
- Identify requirements for manuals, including military applications of commercial maintenance and repair, and oversee the distribution of technical orders and updates.
- Conduct site surveys to ascertain requirements for operational facilities and participate in the preparation of facility requirements plans.
- Engage in various tasks related to the planning, development, implementation, and management of a comprehensive systems support strategy.
- Assist in the development of transportation plans and navigate the defense transportation system process.
- Manage and coordinate cradle-to-grave life cycle logistics support for assigned weapon systems, integrating supply, maintenance, procurement, and quality assurance functions.
- Monitor compliance with milestones and performance criteria across functional and organizational domains.
- Continuously evaluate program support effectiveness in all functional areas to ensure robust support plans and accurate schedules.
- Assist in the planning and coordination of system acquisitions and their transition into operational use.
- Contribute to the development of logistics support and maintainability programs as well as systems acquisition requirements analysis.
Qualifications
Minimum of 15 years of experience in supporting acquisition programs, with at least 5 years dedicated to DoD programs. A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field is required. Candidates should possess extensive knowledge of acquisition logistics philosophy, policies, and procedures related to Air Force systems and equipment procurement. Familiarity with software development, sustainment, and depot avionics testing is essential. Understanding of Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) planning and execution is crucial for coordinating and integrating functions into a structured program. Candidates must demonstrate a solid grasp of contractual processes and technical requirements, along with knowledge of logistics and maintainability programs.
Experience with tanker or transport aircraft operations, depot maintenance, and military aircraft sustainment is preferred. Understanding of commercial derivative aircraft logistics processes and technical manuals is advantageous. Candidates should be U.S. citizens and hold a current Secret clearance.
