Senior Process Development Engineer

FormFactor is seeking a highly skilled Senior Process Development Engineer to join our team in Baldwin Park, CA. As a key member of our Backend Process Development team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing new processes for the Backend single probe bonding process, assembly, and testing processes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop new or modified processes for the Backend single probe bonding process, assembly, and testing processes.
  • Operate equipment to execute backend processes and write working instructions and do production training.
  • Design and execute DOE.
  • Use metrology tools to quantify experimental results.
  • Analyze data statistically, write reports, and present results.
  • Define, specify, evaluate, and implement new processing equipment and new materials.
  • Characterize processes to understand sources of variation and improve yield and cycle time.
  • Coordinate and execute problem-solving efforts, hands-on troubleshooting of module-level and integrated process, and equipment issues.
  • Develop and qualify final metrology steps/OQA procedures to meet customer IQA requirements.
Requirements:
  • BS degree + 5 years experience or MS + 2 years experience or Ph.D in Engineering or Science.
  • Ability to work in a clean room environment and follow safety procedures.
  • Fast learner of new equipment and processes required to execute duties.
  • 3+ years research experience in backend processes is preferred.
  • Broad knowledge of electronic packing, MEMS, and metrology.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and attention to detail.
  • Experience in the use of Statistical Process Control (SPC) using JMP or equivalent software, Design of Experiments (DOE), quality, and continuous improvement methodologies such as Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA).
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize work, and consistently deliver high-quality output.
