Position Overview:
The Front Desk Manager oversees the daily operations of the front desk, serving as the primary point of contact for guests and coordinating with various hotel departments. This role ensures efficient guest registration, check-out processes, and telephone services while adhering to established policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Guarantee that guest arrival and departure processes are executed smoothly and promptly.
- Ensure accurate financial transactions at the front desk, maintaining precise records of guest accounts and charges.
- Manage cash handling procedures in accordance with hotel policies.
- Assist the Assistant General Manager with performance evaluations and staff management as needed.
- Enhance guest experiences by coordinating services for group arrivals and departures, including transportation logistics.
- Foster positive relationships with valet and taxi services to improve guest satisfaction.
- Provide recommendations for local dining, entertainment, and activities to guests.
- Address and resolve guest complaints professionally and efficiently.
- Implement emergency protocols to safeguard guests, staff, and hotel assets.
- Ensure all front desk associates complete their assigned duties daily.
Qualifications:
Education: High School diploma or equivalent required.
Experience: A minimum of two years in a supervisory role at the front desk or four years of front office experience in the hospitality sector.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Proficient understanding of guest services and hotel operations.
- Strong mathematical skills and familiarity with cash handling procedures and computerized cash register systems.
Physical Requirements:
The role requires the ability to meet the physical demands necessary to perform essential job functions, including:
- Reading and interpreting written communication and computer screens.
- Standing for extended periods, with occasional bending and kneeling.
- Mobility to assist guests throughout the hotel.
- Occasional lifting of items up to 25 lbs.
Work Environment:
This position is primarily indoors in a climate-controlled setting.
