The Market Transformation Operations Leader will be instrumental in driving the effectiveness and advancement of the market transformation division by managing departmental operations and administrative activities. This encompasses oversight of contract and budget administration, facilitating recruitment and onboarding for new team members, organizing team retreats and program events, developing systems and processes to enhance efficiency and impact, and supervising a diverse team of staff across functions.

This role is situated within the Market Transformation department, which serves as the foundation for our Efficient Technology Accelerator program and energy codes initiatives. Our team is dedicated to rapidly deploying emerging technologies and making energy efficiency and low-carbon solutions standard practice. We work collaboratively with external partners and across various organizational sectors to achieve these objectives.

This position reports to the Senior Director of Market Transformation and is part of the senior management team within the department.

Key Responsibilities:

Budget Oversight and Work Planning

  • Oversee compliance with contracts in the Market Transformation Department, including the development and tracking of work plans, invoicing support, and client communication.
  • Design and implement processes and systems for ongoing budget management, providing tools that empower managers to handle their budgets effectively.
  • Manage the procurement process for subcontractors, ensuring compliance with state regulations in collaboration with CEE's contracts team.
  • Provide administrative support to the team, including billing assistance, report generation, and project management support.
Team Management and Development
  • Assist in developing the department's staffing plan with input from senior management and HR, identifying gaps and managing recruitment processes.
  • Supervise cross-functional staff to effectively allocate resources across initiatives, oversee performance management, and support career development.
  • Facilitate team-building activities and foster a high-performance culture that enhances staff satisfaction and retention.
Stakeholder Engagement and Communication
  • Support departmental communications to ensure staff access relevant information for their roles and promote collaboration.
  • Assist in engaging both internal and external stakeholders effectively.
  • Enhance event planning and management for departmental and individual technology initiatives.
  • Document key action items from senior management meetings and ensure appropriate follow-up.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Process Improvement and Systems Optimization
  • Oversee the customization and effective use of departmental software, including Customer Relationship Management (CRM) and project management tools.
  • Document current departmental operations and create best practice guides to ensure alignment and optimize efficiency.
  • Identify strategies to enhance collaboration and connectivity both within and outside the department.
Other duties as assigned or necessary.

Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of experience in a similar role focused on operations or administrative management.
  • 2+ years of supervisory or project leadership experience.
  • Proven project management skills, with the ability to prioritize and organize multiple tasks.
  • Experience in contract and budget management.
  • Familiarity with process improvement and operational documentation.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving abilities and experience in team building.
  • Strong attention to detail and follow-through.
  • Ability to maintain organization and communication in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency with software tools such as Microsoft Teams, Salesforce, and project management applications.
  • Capability to work effectively with various internal teams and external partners.
