Key Responsibilities:

  • Quality Management Systems (QMS): Design, execute, and uphold the QMS in alignment with AS9100 and other pertinent aerospace standards. Ensure that all quality procedures are documented, regulated, and consistently enhanced.
  • Team Leadership: Guide, mentor, and cultivate the quality assurance team, which includes quality engineers, inspectors, and technicians. Promote a culture of quality and ongoing improvement throughout the organization.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Guarantee adherence to all relevant aerospace regulations, including FAA, ISO, and customer-specific requirements. Coordinate with regulatory authorities and clients during audits and inspections.
  • Continuous Improvement: Propel continuous improvement initiatives across the manufacturing process, employing Lean Six Sigma methodologies to minimize waste, boost efficiency, and elevate product quality.
  • Supplier Quality Management: Supervise supplier quality assurance processes, including audits, qualification, and performance monitoring. Collaborate closely with suppliers to address quality issues and ensure compliance with standards.
  • Customer Satisfaction: Serve as the primary contact for customer quality concerns. Lead investigations into customer complaints, conduct root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Quality Metrics: Develop and report on essential quality metrics, such as defect rates, rework, scrap, and on-time delivery. Utilize data-driven insights to inform decision-making and improvement initiatives.
  • Risk Management: Identify, evaluate, and mitigate risks associated with product quality. Establish robust risk management processes to avert quality issues.
  • Training & Development: Offer training and development opportunities for quality team members and other staff on quality standards, practices, and procedures.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or a related field. A Master's degree is preferred.
  • Experience: A minimum of 7-10 years of experience in quality management within the aerospace industry, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
  • Certifications: ASQ Certified Quality Manager (CQM), ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE), or Six Sigma Black Belt is preferred.
  • Knowledge: Extensive knowledge of AS9100, FAA regulations, and other relevant aerospace standards. Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, and other continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Skills: Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills. Ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Technology: Proficient in the use of quality management software, statistical analysis tools, and Microsoft Office Suite.
