Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Equipment Engineer to join our team at Western Digital. As a key member of our equipment engineering group, you will be responsible for the specification, project management, design review, and qualification testing of new tools dedicated to new products.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with Process Engineering, Maintenance, vendors, and other teams to define, improve, and monitor equipment reliability, throughput, and process capability.
  • Develop and deploy Preventive Maintenance specifications, EDCSPC on tool parameters, bill of material, and spare parts requirements.
  • Analyze and investigate equipment-related scraps, providing root cause analysis and effective corrective actions.
  • Provide technical expertise and hands-on support to bring down tools up efficiently and effectively.
  • Take ownership of new equipment specification, technical negotiation with vendors, design and documentation review, tool installation, and qualification testing and documentation.
Requirements
  • At least 8 years' experience with a B.S. or at least 6 years' experience with an M.S. degree in electrical, mechanical, or related engineering or physical science.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, organized, and quality-driven.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong project management, and people skills.
  • Ability to work with technicians and transfer technical knowledge and instructions in an accessible manner.
