Your Role
As a Senior Equipment & Controls Engineer within our Manufacturing Division, your technical expertise and leadership will be vital for the success of our production operations. You will leverage your knowledge of equipment, controls, reliability, and operational processes to effectively address production challenges and propose enhancements to equipment design. Your contributions will be crucial in improving process throughput, performance, reliability, and safety, ensuring our manufacturing team can consistently meet the demands of our expanding customer base. As we scale our operations, you will also support the design of the equipment and systems necessary for our next-generation battery technology facilities.
- Provide troubleshooting and technical support for production equipment and controls, demonstrating a proactive approach to resolving operational challenges.
- Analyze production metrics, investigate anomalies, lead root cause analyses, and implement corrective measures to sustain high overall equipment effectiveness (OEE).
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive projects aimed at enhancing equipment performance, reliability, safety, and optimizing manufacturing processes.
- Offer insights to equipment and controls design teams to influence future factory and equipment designs.
- Work collaboratively with various teams to implement scalable manufacturing systems and processes that enhance efficiency, quality, reliability, and safety.
- Act as a mentor and leader to other manufacturing and engineering personnel through active listening, information sharing, and the development of training programs.
- A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in production or manufacturing equipment and controls within industries such as automotive, semiconductor, chemical, oil & gas, pharmaceuticals, or battery technology.
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, controls & automation, electrical engineering, or a related discipline.
- Proven technical knowledge of complex production equipment, including pneumatic/motor-driven systems, pumps, compressors, abatement technologies, furnaces, and pressure/vacuum vessels.
- Familiarity with programming languages (e.g., Structured Text, C#, Python) and industrial control systems (e.g., PLC, SCADA, HMI).
- Experience leading project teams and managing medium to large-scale initiatives.
- Knowledge of key manufacturing and process safety systems/tools, such as Management of Change, Process Hazard Analysis (PHA), and Root Cause Analysis (RCA).
- Ability to manage multiple responsibilities, demonstrating self-motivation and the capacity to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong listening and communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to pass a respirator fit test and wear respiratory protection as needed.
- Must be able to wear personal protective equipment, including lab coats, gloves, safety glasses, and safety shoes.
- This position may require occasional production support during non-standard hours.
- Capability to move between buildings and remain stationary for extended periods.
Compensation
The starting base salary for this position ranges from $137,000 to $174,000, depending on various factors such as education, experience, and skills. This base salary is part of Sila's comprehensive Total Rewards package, which may include benefits, perks, equity, and bonuses. The salary range is subject to change.
