Job Overview

Position Summary:

The Building People, LLC is seeking a Facilities Project Manager to oversee and manage maintenance and service operations for designated facilities. This role involves ensuring that all maintenance activities are conducted efficiently and that preventive maintenance schedules are adhered to. The Project Manager will coordinate with Contracting Officer Representatives (CORs) across various service contracts, including Maintenance, Custodial, Grounds, Pest Control, and Facility Site Services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and evaluate facility programs to ensure compliance with safety, fire prevention, and security standards.
  • Conduct regular assessments of building systems and equipment to identify and rectify issues promptly.
  • Continuously recommend enhancements to preventive maintenance initiatives.
  • Supervise all building systems, including fire/life safety, plumbing, HVAC, and electrical, while staying updated on the latest HVAC technologies.

Essential Qualifications:

  • A minimum of five years of experience in managing and supervising mechanical operations and maintenance in buildings.
  • Demonstrated capability to lead extensive maintenance programs for Department of Defense facilities.
  • Experience in facilities management, specifically with Mission Critical facilities, including electrical, mechanical, plumbing, HVAC, and HAZMAT systems.
  • Familiarity with NFPA fire codes, OSHA regulations, and relevant building codes.
  • Ability to interpret and work with building blueprints and schematic diagrams.
  • Experience in preparing vendor contracts to ensure high-quality and cost-effective service delivery.
  • Financial acumen to understand budgets and variances as required by management.
  • Knowledge of Building Automation Systems (BAS) and fire alarm systems.
  • Comprehensive understanding of building systems, maintenance contracts, and local safety regulations.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).

Educational Background:

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, or Business Management is preferred.
