Facilities Operations Engineer

Position: Shift Engineer (FBIQ)
Role Overview: EMCOR Government Services is in search of a Shift Engineer to join our team. This role is essential for ensuring the efficient operation of our systems and is governed by the collective bargaining agreement for Local 99.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the operation and maintenance of chillers, boilers, and building systems along with related equipment.
- Work on a rotational shift basis, which may include days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays as required.
- Continuously monitor assigned systems and equipment both locally and remotely.
- Respond to alarms and conduct regular inspections, documenting necessary data in operational logs.
- Maintain hourly logs of equipment performance and familiarize oneself with emergency protocols and responses.
- Address service requests and implement corrective measures as needed.
- Perform additional related tasks as assigned.
- Must possess EPA - CFC Universal Certification.
- Must hold an active HVAC Journeyman or Third Grade Stationary Engineers License in Virginia, Maryland, or the District of Columbia.
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience required.
- Technical expertise in Building Automation Systems, Centrifugal Chillers, Air Cooled Chillers, Fire and Water Tube Boilers, Air Handling Units, Variable Air Volume systems, Fan Coil Units, and Chemical Treatment processes is essential.
- Familiarity with emergency systems, including redundancy, isolation, changeover, and shutdown procedures for all utilities and mission-critical systems is necessary.
- Eligibility for a Top Secret (TS) security clearance is required.
