Facilities Operations Engineer

Position: Shift Engineer (FBIQ)
Overview: We are currently seeking a Shift Engineer to support our operations. This role is integral to maintaining the functionality of critical systems and is subject to the Collective Bargaining Agreement for Local 99.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate and maintain chillers, boilers, and various building systems and associated equipment.
- Work on a rotational shift basis, which may include days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays as required.
- Monitor systems and equipment both locally and remotely.
- Respond to alarms and conduct regular inspections, documenting necessary data in operational logs.
- Maintain hourly logs of equipment performance and familiarize oneself with emergency protocols.
- Address service requests and implement corrective measures.
- Perform additional related tasks as assigned.
- EPA - CFC Universal Certification is required.
- Active HVAC Journeyman or Third Grade Stationary Engineers License in Virginia, Maryland, or the District of Columbia is mandatory.
- A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience is essential.
- Technical proficiency in Building Automation Systems, Centrifugal Chillers, Air Cooled Chillers, Fire and Water Tube Boilers, Air Handling Units, Variable Air Volume systems, Fan Coil Units, and Chemical Treatment is necessary.
- Familiarity with emergency systems, including redundancy, isolation, changeover, and shutdown procedures for all utilities and mission-critical systems is crucial.
- Eligibility for a Top Secret (TS) security clearance is required.
