Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to join our team as the Associate Director of the University Research Centers Support Team. In this role, you will provide strategic leadership and oversight for all aspects of research administration, ensuring compliance with regulations, optimizing operational efficiency, and supporting the research objectives of the URCs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage the URC team, providing guidance, support, and professional development opportunities.
  • Oversee the preparation and submission of grant proposals, contracts, and other research-related documents, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with funding agency guidelines.
  • Collaborate with center directors, principal investigators, and other stakeholders to facilitate the successful execution of research projects, including budget management, project planning, and reporting.
  • Review and approve Research Portal, PantherMart, OneUSG, and Spectrum transactions. Review and approve Pcard statements and logs, as well as other documents.
  • Represent the URCs on committees and at meetings concerning research administration processes at GSU.
  • Co-lead research administration training through Lunch and Learns, campus introductory training, etc. as needed.
  • Serve as a resource on research administration issues, providing guidance and support to faculty and staff.
  • Stay informed of changes in regulations, policies, and best practices related to research administration, and proactively communicate updates to URC support team, faculty, and other personnel.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree and four years of supervisory/management experience; or a combination of education and related experience.
  • A CRA/CFRA/CPRA is strongly desired; must obtain one within one year of employment if candidate does not have one at the time of employment.
