Financial Readiness Specialist Role

Wounded Warrior Project is seeking a skilled Financial Readiness Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will play a vital role in delivering comprehensive financial education and supportive services to empower wounded warriors and their families to achieve financial stability and resiliency.

About the Role
  • Develop and deliver financial education programs and services to support wounded service members and their families, promoting financial literacy and stability.
  • Manage a caseload of financial readiness cases, providing individualized support and connecting individuals with internal and external resources, such as financial counseling and debt management services.
  • Conduct non-clinical assessments of financial situations and needs, triaging hardship and financial circumstances, and responding appropriately to determine if needs align with policy guidelines.
  • Provide urgent support to warriors and their families in high-crisis situations by connecting them with immediate assistance for emergent financial needs, such as emergency financial assistance and crisis intervention.
Responsibilities
  • Develop and deliver program services and financial education curriculum to support and educate wounded service members and family support members, promoting financial stability and resilience.
  • Maintain detailed and relevant records, including case notes, interaction entries, reporting requirements, and other documentation required for financial education and assistance cases, ensuring compliance with organizational policies and procedures.
  • Coordinate with vendors and outside parties to provide warriors and their families with financial education, such as financial education seminars and financial guidance, debt management, and credit counseling, promoting financial stability and resilience.
  • Provide practical knowledge and educational guidance to empower warriors to make informed decisions and develop personalized plans to achieve financial resiliency, promoting financial stability and resilience.
Requirements
  • Four years of experience in financial counseling, financial education, or personal financial management services, with a strong understanding of financial stability and resilience.
  • Two years of experience working with military or veteran's population, with a strong understanding of their unique financial challenges and needs.
  • Bachelor's degree in business, finance, financial management, or related field, with a strong understanding of financial stability and resilience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Two years of experience with Salesforce, with a strong understanding of its functionality and applications in financial education and assistance.
  • Two years of experience working with an event/planning scheduling system, with a strong understanding of its functionality and applications in financial education and assistance.
  • Accredited Financial Counselor (AFC) or pursuing accreditation, with a strong understanding of financial stability and resilience.
  • Certified Financial Health Counselor (CFHC), with a strong understanding of financial stability and resilience.
Work Environment

General office environment; temperature controlled. Up to 10% travel, with opportunities to work remotely and participate in virtual meetings and training sessions.

Compensation

The estimated hiring range for this position is between $60,211 - $89,600 annual base salary, subject to a candidate's combination of experience, qualifications, and credentials, promoting fair and competitive compensation.
