Overview
We are in search of a Retail Operations Leader who will report directly to the Retail Director.

YOUR ROLE

The Retail Operations Leader is a seasoned professional in the luxury fashion sector, tasked with enhancing brand loyalty and engagement among clients, particularly Very Important Clients (VICs) and Very Very Important Clients (VVICs), to ensure the achievement of store performance objectives.

This role involves maintaining the brand's prestigious image, reaching sales and KPI targets, overseeing the store team, and ensuring adherence to all corporate processes and guidelines to maximize the store's potential.

The individual will serve as the benchmark for Balenciaga's standards within their respective region or country.

Key Responsibilities

Business Development
  • Formulate, implement, and assess the store's strategic action plan to meet sales goals and KPIs.
  • Establish specific quantitative and qualitative objectives and ensure their attainment.
  • Execute action plans and monitor progress.
  • Analyze performance metrics: daily, weekly, and monthly, and conduct ongoing evaluations.
  • Prioritize key KPIs and foster a robust store culture and narrative.
  • Continuously assess the local business landscape, including market trends and competition.
  • Stay informed about market and fashion developments.
  • Share insights with the store team.
  • Incorporate relevant insights into the store's action plan.
  • Identify growth opportunities and implement appropriate actions.
  • Provide high-quality feedback and report to headquarters and/or the store team.
  • Ensure accurate weekly payroll reporting for the store team.
  • Develop the Monthly Store Schedule to align with business needs.
Team Leadership and Development
  • Foster a positive work environment aligned with Balenciaga's values.
  • Articulate a clear vision and objectives for the team and individuals.
  • Identify, attract, recruit, and nurture talent.
  • Collaborate with the Head of Retail and HR to consistently recruit top talent.
  • Create development plans for store management and teams, ensuring professional growth through training and coaching.
  • Encourage continuous professional development and training of the store team with a coaching mindset, keeping them informed about the fashion industry.
  • Provide regular coaching to direct reports.
  • Deliver structured feedback consistently.
  • Conduct individual performance reviews at least biannually.
  • Inspire and challenge store management and teams regularly.
  • Organize team-building activities to enhance collaboration.
Brand Advocacy
  • Act as a Balenciaga Ambassador, promoting the brand's culture both internally and externally.
  • Consistently embody Balenciaga's values and engage the local community with the brand.
  • Ensure the Balenciaga signature and client experience are consistently delivered.
  • Maintain store presentation in accordance with corporate visual merchandising guidelines.
  • Ensure the store's image aligns with corporate standards.
  • Educate the team on these standards.
  • Model behaviors that reflect Balenciaga's service standards, image, and values.
  • Understand clients and prospects to inform action plans.
  • Attract and recruit new clients through personal networks and external partnerships.
  • Develop a clienteling mindset to enhance client loyalty and retention.
  • Oversee the clienteling strategy.
  • Maintain the qualitative standards expected by our brand.
  • Engage VIPs and celebrities effectively.
Process Management
  • Ensure compliance with legal, safety, security, and internal requirements.
  • Manage all administrative and accounting responsibilities.
  • Plan and organize activities to manage workload effectively.
  • Implement safety protocols for the store team.
  • Oversee warehouse inventory, ensuring alignment with sales potential, and report findings to Merchandising Retail at Headquarters.
  • Implement measures to safeguard products and valuable materials.
  • Ensure product packaging and positioning protect corporate assets.
  • Execute Retail Excellence guidelines throughout the store.
  • Supervise inventory processes and report discrepancies immediately.
  • Challenge and enhance existing processes to support growth and efficiency.
Qualifications
  • Commitment to participate in an innovative project.
  • 5 to 10 years of successful managerial experience in the luxury retail sector, overseeing a minimum of 20 employees.

For individuals assigned to work in New York, BALENCIAGA provides a reasonable estimate of the salary range for this role, considering various factors such as business needs, skill sets, experience, and training.
