Position Overview

The Retail Operations Leader is responsible for overseeing the grocery, fresh counters, and quick service restaurant operations within the store. This role serves as a pivotal operational figure, guiding the formulation of strategic initiatives and ensuring their effective implementation. The Operations Leader will utilize data analysis to enhance sales performance while exemplifying leadership on the sales floor.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and coordinate the store's retail and quick service restaurant operations to optimize profitability while adhering to the company's mission, values, and guest experience standards.
  • Develop and lead a high-performing team by recruiting, training, motivating, evaluating, and retaining top talent.
  • Oversee daily operations, optimizing staff schedules and resource allocation to minimize labor costs and maximize sales opportunities.
  • Collaborate closely with department managers to identify operational needs and foster interdepartmental teamwork.
  • Ensure that the team consistently delivers a high level of service to all customers.
  • Implement strategies related to pricing, merchandising, new product launches, and promotions aimed at enhancing efficiency and driving sales growth.
  • Manage inventory and create product lists, determining the introduction and discontinuation of items.
  • Estimate requirements for food and beverage, managing procurement and ensuring compliance with specifications.
  • Partner with senior leadership and corporate teams to strategize on the growth of the quick service restaurant segment.
  • Prepare regular updates on retail and quick service restaurant performance and collaborate across departments to achieve store objectives.
  • Assist with employee recruitment, assignment, training, payroll, scheduling, performance evaluations, and terminations.
  • Document, investigate, and resolve incidents involving employees and guests.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • Minimum of 6 years of management experience in a high-volume, fast-paced retail or quick service environment.
  • Strong communication, leadership, motivational, and team-building abilities.
  • Proven problem-solving, organizational, analytical, and business management skills.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office and common retail Point of Sale systems.
  • Familiarity with Italian products and wines.
  • Knowledge of coffee, coffee production, and manual espresso machines.

Job Requirements:

  • Availability to work on-site with a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Capacity for sustained mobility for up to 8 hours, including standing, walking, bending, and squatting.
  • Willingness to travel up to 10% of the time.

Compensation: The salary range for this position is $75,000 - $90,000.
