Job Summary

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the sales team in the completion of design/site walks to complete bids/quotes.
  • Perform discovery, analysis of business needs, and definition of client requirements in conjunction with the account executives to determine technical requirements for project work.
  • Work with the sales engineering staff to convey requirements to the client and provide insight into the technical options available for network and server infrastructure.
  • Design leading-edge solutions containing a wide variety of technologies.
  • Work closely with the account executives to determine requirements, counts, and configuration of our managed service offerings.
  • Confirm that products meet the prospect's requirements and assist sales in technical qualification.
  • Articulate and demonstrate solutions, influence customer's technical requirements, and position products relative to competition.
  • Utilize system design tools as needed to design system layouts.
  • Utilize system pricing tool as needed to price design layouts.
  • Provide pre-sales support to customers and communicate with clients' technical team as needed.
  • Assist in creating and implementing proof of concepts for clients.
  • Assist account executives by answering technical questions and making technical presentations.
Requirements
  • A post-secondary degree/diploma in electronics or equivalent college technical degree.
  • 3-5 years of experience as a solutions engineer in a mid to large size security integrator.
  • 10 years + experience in technical products and services in the security industry.
  • A strong and thorough knowledge in the Security industry - CCTV, Access Control, Intrusion, PLC's, Relays, Gate Control, Fence Detection, Network Infrastructure, Intercoms, Etc.
  • Advanced communication skills both written, verbal, and presentations to senior executive levels.
  • Expert user level of computer systems: Microsoft Office, Excel, Visio, and documentation control systems.
  • Intermediate user level of CAD.
  • Completion of security manufacturers certified training programs preferred.
  • A clean criminal background and motor vehicle record in good standing.
  • A valid driver's license.
Working Conditions

This is a regional resource allocated to branch, with work conducted remotely and at customer sites as scheduled by the Director of Solution Engineering. Customer sites include commercial, residential multi-tenant, construction, etc. The role requires excellent physical condition, as the job involves lifting equipment overhead weighing upwards of 50 lbs, and driving in all weather conditions from office to jobsite. Travel is 75-100%, predominantly in the United States and Canada, but could extend into other regions.
