As a Behavioral Support Specialist at Devereux, you will play a crucial role in fostering a nurturing environment for children and adolescents facing emotional, behavioral, and developmental challenges.

Position Overview:

This role involves:

  • Creating a safe and therapeutic atmosphere for the individuals in our care.
  • Assisting with daily living tasks, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, household chores, and recreational activities.
  • Implementing and adhering to individualized behavioral support strategies.
  • Maintaining accurate documentation of daily activities, incidents, and progress notes.

Compensation and Benefits:

Salary starts at $19.89 per hour with additional compensation opportunities:

  • Shift differentials (up to $2.00 per hour).
  • Experience in the field (up to $2.00 per hour).
  • Educational credits ($0.48/hr for a Bachelor's degree; $0.72/hr for a Master's degree).

Work Schedule:

Currently seeking candidates for 2nd shift (2:30 PM to 11:00 PM) and 3rd shift (10:45 PM to 7:15 AM). Weekend availability is required for full-time positions.

Qualifications:

Education: High school diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Sociology, Human Services, or Social Work preferred.

Experience: Preferred experience as a Certified Nursing Assistant with a background in working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, mental health issues, or dual diagnoses.

Other Requirements:

  • Completion of a two-week orientation program.
  • Weekend and holiday availability.
  • Successful completion of pre-employment medical screenings, including drug testing and physical examinations.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to operate company vehicles.
