Position Overview

Veterans Inc., the foremost provider of supportive services to Veterans and their families in New England, is looking for an IT Support Specialist to enhance our dedicated team.

Under the guidance of the IT Manager, the IT Support Specialist will be responsible for the upkeep and management of computer systems, desktops, peripherals, and mobile devices. This role involves installing, diagnosing, repairing, maintaining, and upgrading hardware and software to ensure peak system performance. The specialist will also address issues promptly and accurately while providing user training and assistance as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install and troubleshoot software applications.
  • Set up workstations with necessary hardware and peripherals (e.g., printers, switches).
  • Guide users on operating new software and hardware.
  • Provide Tier I and Tier II support for desktops, laptops, tablets, printers, and other devices.
  • Manage and resolve mobile device issues (iPhones and Android).
  • Assist with basic network administration tasks.
  • Facilitate onboarding processes for new hires.
  • Respond to technical inquiries via phone, email, tickets, and in-person visits.
  • Manage user accounts and access through Microsoft Active Directory and Exchange.

Essential Qualifications:

  • 2-5 years of IT support experience in a Windows/Active Directory environment with over 50 users.
  • Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license are required due to travel between multiple office locations.
  • Proficient in:
    • Setup, configuration, and troubleshooting of desktop/laptop hardware and software.
    • WiFi-enabled devices.
    • Business-related desktop/web applications.
    • Windows 10 Professional, Microsoft Office Suite (including Outlook 365), MS Teams, Azure MFA, and Active Directory.
    • Remote support tools.
  • Preferred qualifications include:
    • Experience with MAC OS.
    • Networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP) in LAN and WAN settings.
    • Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices.
    • Relevant certifications (A+, Network+, Microsoft Enterprise Desktop Support Technician).
  • Required soft skills:
    • Exceptional customer service and communication skills.
    • Strong problem-solving abilities.
    • Capability to provide clear technical assistance to users, both verbally and in writing.
  • Must successfully pass all pre-hire assessments, including background checks and drug screening.
  • Compliance with Veterans Inc. COVID-19 Vaccination Policy is necessary, with exemptions considered.
