About the Role

Cedarhurst Senior Living is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Certified Medication Aide to join our team at our La Vista community. As a key member of our care team, you will play a vital role in promoting the health, well-being, and independence of our residents.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct resident care services, including medication distribution and administration, in accordance with individualized care plans.
  • Perform resident evaluations and assessments as required by state regulations and facility policy, under the direction of the Director of Nursing.
  • Monitor residents for changes in condition and report any concerns to the supervisor and/or Executive Director.
  • Provide timely interventions and share information with care staff and family members as instructed.
  • Assist with completing and maintaining current individualized care plans for each resident.
  • Document vital signs, weights, and blood sugars as assigned, and provide assistance with activities of daily living as needed.
  • Participate in the oversight and management of the medication delivery system, including timely order entry, receipt, and tracking, as well as daily MAR documentation and narcotic counts.
  • Provide glucose monitoring and administration of insulin (for CMTs and insulin-certified CMAs/L1MA only).
  • Work collaboratively with other team members to ensure the highest level of care and service for our residents.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED and current state certification for the corresponding role.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) and/or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification is required.
  • At least one (1) year of related work experience, preferably in senior care, and a general knowledge of laws and restrictions regarding Assisted Living care.
  • Ability to work well with others, take direction from management, and take initiative to ensure the needs of our residents are met.
  • Must be able to meet all physical demands of the job, including seeing, speaking, touching, walking, standing, bending, reaching overhead, crouching/kneeling or crawling, and regularly lifting/moving up to 50lbs independently and up to 200lbs with assistance.
  • Self-motivated and accountable for results, with a strong sense of professionalism and a commitment to doing The Friend's Work.
