Position Overview

Aksarben Village Senior Living is dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for our residents. We are seeking a committed individual to fill the role of Certified Medication Aide. This full-time position includes day and evening shifts, allowing you to make a meaningful impact in the lives of our senior community.

Role Summary:

The Certified Medication Aide will support residents with daily living activities, including but not limited to dressing, mobility, hygiene, and meal assistance. This role also entails administering prescribed medications in compliance with state regulations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Administer medications as per physician orders and resident care plans.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of medications given and any that were not administered.
  • Monitor and ensure the health and safety of residents.
  • Document any changes in residents' health status and personal needs.
  • Complete necessary incident reports and maintain resident records.
  • Respond to emergencies and provide first-aid as needed.
  • Communicate any concerns regarding residents to the appropriate nursing staff.
  • Assist residents with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, and personal hygiene.
  • Support residents with medical needs as outlined in their care plans.
  • Assist with laundry, meal service, and daily housekeeping tasks.
  • Encourage social interaction and participation in activities.
  • Ensure a safe and pleasant living environment for all residents.
  • Attend staff meetings and training sessions regularly.
  • Maintain confidentiality regarding resident information and facility operations.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Certification as a Medication Aide or equivalent state certification.
  • Basic First Aid training.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Experience working with elderly populations.
  • Knowledge of medication administration protocols.
Skills and Competencies:
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team.
  • Understanding of nursing practices for older adults.
  • Familiarity with state and federal assisted living regulations.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA requirements.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Preferred Experience:
  • Prior experience in a senior living environment.
