Job Summary

We are seeking an Electro-Optics Systems Specialist to join our engineering team in Hampton, VA. The ideal candidate will have experience with optical subassembly fabrication, integration, and testing.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Fabricate and integrate optical subassemblies with electrical and mechanical components
  • Support the transition of photonic subsystem designs into production
  • Order parts and materials required for assembly and testing
  • Perform optical and electrical testing and characterization
  • Organize and present data for review and analysis
  • Assemble test sets and design test fixtures as needed
  • Manage and maintain laboratory equipment

Requirements:

  • Minimum of two years of experience in optical fiber splicing, optical sources, and test equipment
  • Good hands-on skills in assembly of complex photonic and electronic assemblies
  • PC board soldering and cable fabrication experience
  • Testing of optical and electrical components
  • Experience with fiber optic connectors and custom assembly
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Associates Degree and/or Certified Fiber Optic Installer/Technician ETA preferred
