The Construction Permit Specialist at Lennar is tasked with managing the Starts Process within the division office. This role encompasses the development of panels, collection of documentation, submission for approvals and permits, and data entry into various JD Edwards screens.

This position demands a high degree of organization and the capability to handle critical tasks associated with initiating a home in Lennar's system.

Your Responsibilities on the Team

• Acquire documents from Engineers and Architects to streamline the permit application process.

• Secure all necessary approvals for permits and serve as the liaison between the company and relevant municipalities.

• Prepare and submit applications to various agencies and boards that have jurisdiction over required permits and/or approvals.

• Review plans issued from the division for correct revision dates and ensure accuracy in start packages.

• Coordinate documentation and applications with external consultants as needed.

• Submit paperwork for permits, enter permitting data, prepare start packages for construction managers, and arrange inspections required for closing.

• Collaborate closely with municipalities regarding the status of permits to ensure timely processing.

• Generate and maintain schedules for all communities and coordinate with municipalities from approval to the final stages of the permitting process.

• Organize and coordinate meetings, appointments, etc.

• Maintain all company files related to site plan applications, approvals, licenses, and permits.

• Attend county board meetings and hearings on behalf of Lennar to present projects and request approvals.

Your Toolbox

• Minimum High School Diploma or equivalent required; College degree preferred.

• At least 1 year of experience with single/multi-family and amenity permitting.

• Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize and take initiative.

• Proficient in reading blueprints and plot plans.

• Detail-oriented team player comfortable in a fast-paced environment with a heavy workload.

• Valid Driver's License with a good driving record.

• Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office (specifically Word and Excel).

Physical & Office/Site Presence Requirements:


Regular, in-person attendance at Company communities/job sites and offices during regular work hours is essential for this role.

This position requires the ability to work in excess of eight hours per day in the confined quarters of a construction trailer, operate a motor vehicle, read plans, climb stairs and ladders, bend, stoop, reach, lift, move and/or carry equipment which may exceed 50 pounds. The job may also require occasional operation of construction equipment. Finger dexterity may be necessary to operate a computer keyboard and calculator.
