Land Permit Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Land Permit Specialist to join our team at Magnolia Oil & Gas Operating. As a key member of our development team, you will play a critical role in ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and facilitating the permitting process for our oil and gas operations.
Key Responsibilities- Regulatory Compliance: Monitor rig schedule permits and ensure timely submissions to achieve desired spud dates.
- Permit Coordination: Coordinate, prepare, and submit oil and gas regulatory drilling and completion applications, including allocation wells.
- Data Analysis: Conduct in-depth reviews and analyses of data required for permit and completion submittals to ensure accuracy and compliance with regulatory agencies.
- Communication and Coordination: Communicate and coordinate with leaders on timing of regulatory approvals, identify potential problems, and work with the land team to provide solutions.
- Regulatory Agency Liaison: Coordinate information required by regulatory agencies and provide advanced support for land professionals dealing with complex permitting and compliance issues.
- Process Improvement: Continuously improve relationships and communications with regulatory agencies and identify opportunities for process improvements.
- Quality Control: Ensure the validity of all permitting data and metrics.
- Regulatory Compliance Solutions: Identify, diagnose, and recommend regulatory compliance solutions independently and collaborate across disciplines to contribute to company performance and goals.
- Permitting Objectives: Execute permitting objectives at both federal and state levels.
- Inventory Management: Track and maintain federal APD inventory and submit 100% of available BLM APD extensions within 90 days of expiration.
- Education: Bachelor of Business Administration Degree from an accredited four-year university or college.
- Experience: Direct land experience in and knowledge of Texas land, including allocation wells, required. 5+ years' experience as an oil & gas company Landman, preferred.
- Certifications: Member of AAPL, RPL, or CPL Certification, preferred.
- Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, system savvy, and ability to work with different applications and databases. Highly proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and ArcGIS programs.
