Job Summary

The Assistant Vice President - Home Office Claim (AVP) is a key leadership position that operates with a high degree of autonomy, allowing for significant input and influence on the short- and long-term direction and success of the organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead a large Auto Claim organization across multiple offices, driving high levels of employee engagement, delivering strong customer experiences, and achieving optimal file outcomes.
  • Oversee the claim handling of our largest line of business, partnering with other non-Claim business areas to support their business goals.
  • Develop and implement strategies to reduce loss costs, achieve positive loss trends, and exceed industry loss ratio benchmarks.
  • Evolve the organization based on industry trends, emerging challenges, regulatory changes, and innovation.
  • Make innovative, strategic decisions that impact corporate results, loss and expense costs, employee engagement, operational expenses, revenue, and profitability.
Requirements
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in a leadership position within a Claim Department in the property and casualty insurance industry.
  • Bachelor's degree required with continued professional development throughout career.
  • Strong skills in delegation, strategic planning, directing multiple units or departments, planning, and controlling resources and expenses, and developing staff.
  • Experience in designing and implementing programs to assure maximum efficiency, while maintaining excellent and effective customer service.
