Chief Business Office Leader

The Chief Business Office Leader will oversee business operations across State Street Global Technology Services (GTS). This role will sit within the strategy team, reporting directly to the Head of Strategic Initiatives. The key priority will be to drive the strategic planning process for GTS and offer key insights to the senior leadership team on the execution of the overall strategic initiatives of the portfolio.
Key Responsibilities
The ideal candidate will have a combination of both technical and operational understanding. Key responsibilities will include:
- Assisting in the development of the business unit strategy on both a multi-year and periodic basis in support of the company's individual business unit's long-term strategic plans.
- Monitoring progress of the technology portfolio to assess strategic progress against our 3-year plan, including the tracking of operational objectives (OKRs) and performance to identify risks to plan.
- Supporting the drive to a standard operating model of developing strategy across the various functional units within GTS.
- Leading the production of analytical insights to the GTS Leadership on a regular basis on the health of execution against the defined strategy.
- Supporting the Head of Strategy to drive communication and engagement with the most senior executives in GTS.
- Providing consultancy services to help improve the articulation and communication of our strategic plans with the wider stakeholder areas both external and internal to technology.
- Engaging with business unit COO functions to ensure alignment on Technology and Operations strategic vision.
- Serving as a Subject Matter Expert on strategic plan updates and formal communication on the progress of its execution.
Requirements
The ideal candidate will have exceptional communication skills, both written and oral, with the ability to communicate effectively to executive level audiences. They will be a credible business advisor able to build consensus, with the ability to think strategically, managing complexity, change, and multiple priorities. They will also have a highly collaborative work style and ability to effectively work with leaders who have a range of management styles. Additionally, they will have exceptional organizational skills and ability to simultaneously manage a wide range of activities.
Education and Preferred Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree, with a minimum of 10+ years of related experience within the financial services industry. They will also have a minimum of 10+ years of experience in driving and shaping business strategies, with proven people leadership skills and comfort in interacting with senior executives on a frequent basis. Advanced capabilities in Microsoft Office suite of applications are also required.
Salary Range
$110,000 - $185,000 Annual
The range quoted above applies to the role in the primary location specified. If the candidate would ultimately work outside of the primary location above, the applicable range could differ.
