Environmental Health and Safety Specialist II, III

Prism Maritime, LLC is seeking a highly skilled Environmental Health and Safety Specialist II, III to join our team. As a key member of our ESH Department, you will be responsible for providing environmental, health, and safety compliance support to our organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement ESH strategies, policies, and procedures to support corporate goals and client needs.
- Assist in meeting Federal, State, and local ESH regulatory reporting requirements.
- Conduct routine and emergent on-site safety and environmental compliance inspections.
- Provide training and support to Office, Shop, and Shipboard personnel on Health/Safety and Environmental awareness, standards, practices, and requirements.
- Conduct internal audits/surveillance to ensure adherence to company procedures/policy in the areas of safety, environmental compliance, and training.
- Assist in the vetting, selection, and monitoring of Industry Partners and sub-contractors for Environmental Management and disposal functions.
- Conduct noise and air monitoring and other related industrial hygiene tests.
- Review data to ensure performance and quality of products conform to established company, International (ISO), and governmental regulatory standards and agency guidelines.
- Provide direct support to Operations Department to evaluate worksites and identify job hazards.
- Assist in maintaining ESH records and support documentation.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma and relevant education and experience combination.
- 2-10 years of direct Environmental Safety and Health Experience in Shipbuilding/Repair Industry.
- US Military experience related to Environmental Safety and Health can be substituted for education or shipyard industry related experience requirements.
- Preferred certifications include OSHA 5400 Maritime Trainer, OSHA 5410 OSHA Standards for Maritime Industry, 40 Hour HAZWOPER, First Aid and CPR, Shipyard Competent Person, and Certified Asbestos Inspector.
Work Environment:
Our work is primarily onboard naval vessels, which may include variables of physical activity. You may be required to work outdoors and experience temperature variations, extremely loud noises, and other physical hazards.
