Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced HR Manager to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing strategic HR guidance and support to our business leaders, driving HR initiatives and projects, and ensuring compliance with all relevant laws and regulations. Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement HR strategies and initiatives to drive business results and improve employee engagement.
  • Provide HR guidance and support to business leaders, including coaching, training, and development programs.
  • Manage HR projects and initiatives, including union relations, compensation and benefits, HRIS, leave administration, and worker's compensation.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations, including labor laws, employment laws, and HR best practices.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with union representatives to minimize labor relations issues.
  • Manage all grievances in a timely and effective manner.
  • Develop and implement training programs to improve supervisor and manager skills.
  • Provide leadership thoughts and ideas on diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives.
  • Establish partnerships and consult with key business stakeholders and HR team members to foster teamwork, collaboration, and learning within the HR team.

Requirements:

  • Associate's degree in business, human resources, or a related field.
  • Minimum of seven (7) years of HR experience, dealing with employee issues and managing initiatives.
  • Prior experience working in a union environment.
  • Experience driving effective change management techniques and implementation, including communications plans.
  • Experience conducting sensitive and other investigations, demonstrating ability to remain objective and produce a recommendation based on findings.
  • Ability to manage all aspects of collective bargaining agreements to ensure compliance, fulfillment of technical requirements, and awareness of company philosophies regarding union relations.
  • Strong strategic orientation, analytical skills, critical thinking ability.
  • Demonstrated leadership capability, including ability to lead, influence, and motivate others.
  • Demonstrated ability to manipulate and analyze data and present information in a way that allows leaders to make decisions.
  • Outstanding ability to manage relationships and balance customer, project, organization, and team needs to ensure mutually beneficial outcomes.
  • Excellent consultative skills and ability to communicate effectively across varied stakeholder audiences, including senior leaders.
  • Excellent writing skills and ability to take ideas of someone else and craft them into messages or announcements for broader audiences.
  • Proven ability to work with minimal guidance, manage multiple priorities simultaneously, and take initiative even under unfamiliar or ambiguous circumstances.
  • Well-organized, able to prioritize work, manage time effectively, and follow through on commitments.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certificate in HR Management through a university, Professional Human Resources (PHR) certification, or higher.
  • Proficient skills in Human Resources Information System (HRIS) applications.
  • Prior HR experience in a service industry business.
  • Demonstrated ability to facilitate training, including development of training materials and delivery.

Pay: $80,000 to $95,000 per year
