Job Summary:

The Faculty Support Specialist will provide faculty support to meet the teaching, research, and patient care needs of the Department of Surgery, Division of Plastic Surgery. This role will assist in fulfilling UTMB's threefold mission by providing direct patient care, participating in teaching activities, and contributing to administrative responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct patient care, including surgery, consultative services, outpatient services, and care of hospitalized patients.
  • Participate in all teaching activities, including conferences, lectures, bedside teaching, and rounds.
  • Supervise and evaluate residents, provide medical direction, and participate in committee memberships at the Department and Health System level.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of departmental policies and procedures.

Requirements:

  • Graduate of an approved medical school.
  • Completion of an approved residency training program.
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Plastic Surgery.
  • Texas Medical license without restrictions.
