Faculty Support Specialist, Department of Surgery Division of Vascular Surgery

Job Summary:
The Faculty Support Specialist will provide faculty support to meet the teaching, research, and patient care needs of the Department of Surgery, Division of Plastic Surgery, and assist in fulfilling UTMB's threefold mission.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct patient care, including surgery, consultative services, outpatient services, and care of hospitalized patients.
- Participate in all teaching activities of the Department, including conferences, lectures, bedside teaching, and rounds.
- Supervise house staff in the operating room, clinics, and in-patient services.
- Contribute to continuing medical education and participate in local, regional, and national meetings.
- Assist with administrative responsibilities, including supervising and evaluating residents, providing medical direction, and participating in committee memberships at the Department and Health System level.
Requirements:
- Graduate of an approved medical school.
- Completion of an approved residency training program.
- Board Certified or Board Eligible (BC/BE) in Plastic Surgery.
- Texas Medical license without restrictions.
Compensation:
Commensurate with experience.
