Pasco-Hernando State College is seeking a highly qualified Adjunct Instructor to teach Speech and Communication courses. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and delivering high-quality instruction, assessing student progress, and maintaining accurate records.
Key Responsibilities- Teaching and Instruction: Provide varied and relevant instruction designed to meet the educational needs of assigned students in accordance with the College's policies, procedures, and approved curricula.
- Student Support: Respond to the special needs and reasonable accommodations of students with disabilities, interacting with the Director of Disabilities Services to ensure that reasonable accommodations are appropriately provided.
- Course Management: Provide students with a course syllabus, which will minimally include the requirements listed in the Syllabus Template, and submit copies to the appropriate Academic Dean.
- Assessment and Evaluation: Maintain and submit accurate grade rosters and class attendance records to appropriate College personnel within established College deadlines, and assess student progress and post student grades.
- Professional Development: Participate in programs and/or activities that enhance professional development, and review the Full-Time Faculty and Adjunct Faculty Handbook prior to teaching classes to become familiar with the College's District Board of Trustees Rules and Internal Management Memoranda.
- Communication and Collaboration: Attend and participate in faculty meetings, as assigned, and establish and maintain working relationships with all stakeholders.
- Education: Master's Degree in Speech or a Master's Degree with at least 18 graduate semester hours in any combination of the qualifying fields listed below.
- Qualifying Fields: Speech, Communications, Oratory.
- Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Advanced organizational skills, ability to communicate effectively with a variety of students, ability to establish and maintain working relationships with all stakeholders, and ability to maintain detailed student records.
