Job Title: Business Development Executive

Staples is a leading business-to-business company that connects with customers through its sales and sales support teams. As a Business Development Executive, you will play a crucial role in understanding customer needs and providing solutions that meet their unique requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify and pursue targeted Enterprise accounts with designated territories.
  • Develop and execute Total Sales strategies to move prospects to active opportunities, positioning Staples Technology Solutions as the preferred solution for decision makers and influencers within IT and Procurement departments.
  • Conduct thorough research to demonstrate knowledge of prospective customers' industries and specific business issues and challenges facing them.
  • Collaborate with Staples office products Key Account Managers, Business Development Executives, and other Category sales teams to secure contractual relationships in the technology category.
  • Work with the Sales Support Team to improve customer response times.
  • Provide input to sales leadership on new potential programs and initiatives.
  • Communicate effectively with C-Level executives within our customer base, prospects, and vendor partners at a senior executive level.

Requirements:

  • Confidence in applying business and financial expertise to identify and qualify opportunities.
  • Deep understanding and familiarity of the current geographic marketplace and strong connections with decision makers and influencers within the IT and procurement areas of targeted organizations.
  • Impeccable oral and written communication skills.
  • Mastery in developing trusted customer relationships up to C-level.
  • Ability to match customer needs with state-of-the-art technology solutions and partners to deliver them.
  • Negotiation skills to craft solutions that benefit customers, partners, and Staples Technology Solutions.
  • Ability to use and engage internal resources such as Marketing, Technology Experts, Services, and others.
  • Highly skilled at creating customer-facing presentations in PowerPoint and other methods.
  • Strong understanding of the IT industry with the ability to recognize, follow, and speak to industry trends.
