Job Summary

The Business Support Specialist plays a vital role in ensuring the efficient operation of our department. This position requires advanced administrative skills, excellent communication, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide high-level administrative support to the department, including developing and implementing administrative processes and procedures.
  • Assist in maintaining regulatory compliance and ensuring that departmental goals and objectives are aligned with the organization's financial sustainability goals.
  • Coordinate personnel functions, including recruitment, onboarding, and performance management.
  • Prepare and analyze data, including budget preparation and procurement analysis.
  • Develop and implement customer-focused systems, processes, and behaviors to promote excellent customer service orientation within the department.
  • Assist in coordinating personnel functions for each department within the Division as requested.
  • Ensure that departmental goals and objectives are carried out and supportive of financial sustainability goals of Jackson Health System.
Requirements
  • 3-5 years of related experience.
  • High school diploma required; Bachelor's degree in a related field strongly preferred.
  • Ability to analyze, organize, and prioritize work accurately while meeting multiple deadlines.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form.
  • Ability to handle difficult and stressful situations with critical thinking and professional composure.
Working Conditions

Job function is sedentary in nature and requires sitting for extended periods of time. Function may require frequent standing or walking. Must be able to lift or carry objects weighing up to 20 pounds.

Jobs in this group are required to function in a fast-paced environment with occasional high pressure or emergent and stressful situations. Frequent interaction with a diverse population including team members, providers, patients, insurance companies, and other members of the public.

May wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as gloves or a mask when exposed to hospital environment outside of office.
