Position Overview:

The Client Relationship Banking Specialist plays a vital role in fulfilling the needs and expectations of clients by effectively servicing, promoting, and selling the Bank's diverse products and services. This position focuses on enhancing deposits and fee income, minimizing expenses, fostering and expanding exceptional client relationships, and consistently achieving or surpassing assigned individual or team sales objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Achieve and exceed individual and team sales targets consistently.
  • Enhance Bank relationships through cross-selling, utilizing marketing materials, promotions, telemarketing, and developing strong client relations while delivering prompt service.
  • Maintain a prospect list of potential clients and engage in networking, outside sales initiatives, and cold calling as appropriate.
  • Open and manage various types of accounts, products, and services for clients after assessing their specific needs.
  • Address general client inquiries, reconcile client statements, collaborate with operations personnel on discrepancies, and ensure proper maintenance of account files.
  • Fulfill all client account needs, including performing teller duties as required: accepting deposits, cashing checks within policy limits, processing withdrawals, and handling loan payments.
  • Facilitate transactions and respond promptly and effectively to client questions.
  • Provide access to safe deposit boxes after verifying client identity and entitlement. Complete necessary documentation for renting, transferring, or surrendering a safe deposit box, and manage related payments.
  • Work towards achieving the Bank's team or individual goals, including deposits, loans, cross-selling, and referrals to other bank units such as Investments, Lending, and Treasury Services.
  • Execute all paying, receiving, and collection functions within the banking center with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Adhere to cash handling, operational, security, BSA/AML, and all other policies and procedures.
  • In collaboration with Lending staff, interview prospective loan applicants, gather necessary client documents for credit decisions, and assist in closing loans in compliance with regulations.
  • Ensure compliance with the Bank's operational and security policies to maintain maximum accounting integrity and security.
  • Complete all necessary G/L tickets and maintain accurate balances.
  • Handle vault duties and ATM reconciliations as needed.
  • Perform complex service and branch functions, including processing outgoing domestic/international wires according to approved authorization limits.
  • Assist with Branch BSA operations and wire transfer processes as required.
  • Manage routine service requests and administrative banking functions, preparing all necessary reports promptly.
  • Be prepared to travel to various Bank locations with little or no notice.
  • Meet the requirements of the S.A.F.E. Act and adhere to procedures, including notifying Human Resources of any changes in current status.

Qualifications:

  • 2-4 years of experience in a teller role.
  • Strong background in sales.
  • Prior knowledge of bank teller procedures and policies, along with a working understanding of online computer systems or teller terminals.
  • Proven abilities in needs-based sales and high-level client servicing skills.
  • Excellent client service and cash handling experience.
  • Ability to prepare or interpret detailed written materials and perform detailed mathematical functions accurately.
  • Capable of efficiently handling complex transactions.
  • Security-conscious, accurate, and attentive to detail.
  • Understanding of compliance with Federal & State laws governing teller operations.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet and exceed sales goals while maintaining a high level of client service.
  • Willingness to work extended hours, including weekends if necessary.
