Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Admissions Specialist to join our team at River Oaks Hospital. As an Admissions Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring that each individual receives an appropriate assessment and receives the necessary care and support.

Key Responsibilities
  • Receive intake calls and individual/family walk-ins with compassion, empathy, and a sense of service and urgency.
  • Ensure thorough and accurate documentation of calls and other intake-related paperwork.
  • Coordinate aspects of the admissions process, including efficient and effective handling of inquiry calls, processing of referrals for possible admission, and knowledge of and communication with referral sources and customers who present for assessment.
  • Verify insurance, process patient registration, take vitals, and perform other non-clinical duties as assigned by admissions leadership.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma/GED required; Bachelor's degree in a related field or related experience in a psychiatric field required.
  • Previous experience in a human service, social service, psychiatric, or mental health setting, performing administrative duties, crisis intervention, telephonic triage, and inquiries, and customer service.
  • Ability to set priorities and work with others in a team environment.
  • Crisis intervention training or experience on a Crisis Line or psychiatric setting preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, both in person and over the phone.
