Job Summary:
Xavier University of Louisiana is seeking a highly skilled professional to fill the position of Advancement Scholarship Specialist. The successful candidate will play a critical role in supporting the university's mission by providing expertise in business processes related to donor cultivation and stewardship.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide internal expertise for business processes during all stages of donor cultivation and stewardship.
- Support post-gift activities such as gift documentation, fund creation, and post-gift information dissemination among campus and XULA donors.
- Monitor and evaluate annual and endowed scholarship awards and academic programs while striving for continuous improvement.
- Conduct financial stewardship efforts and promote the university's mission.
- Collaborate closely with the Executive Director, Offices of Financial Aid, Admissions, and Fiscal Services to support the overall stewardship and recognition plan of the Office of Institutional Advancement.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university in accounting, business, communications, marketing, public relations, or a related discipline.
- 2-3 years of reconciliation and reporting experience preferred.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Exceptional writing and editing skills.
- Strong accounting analytical, communication, and people skills.
- Creative and strategic thinking abilities.
- Strong problem-solving, organizational, and project management skills.
- Ability to coordinate multiple projects.
- Ability to gather and analyze data and generate reports.
- Must be able to take the initiative to coordinate processes.
- Ability to meet deadlines.
- Professional attitude and the ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and as a team member.
- Intermediate to advanced level skills in Word and Excel programs.
- Strong skills in Photoshop and Adobe Creative Suite programs.
- Familiarity with relational databases, Raisers Edge preferred.
- Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed.
