POSITION SUMMARY
Alternate Perspectives, Incorporated (API) is seeking a dedicated Admissions Counselor to join our team at one of our Job Corps Centers.
This role is ideal for individuals with a background or interest in marketing and sales. As part of a vibrant team, you will engage in recruiting and screening young individuals (ages 16-24) within a designated area for enrollment in the Job Corps program. This position also involves public speaking and establishing community partnerships. Job Corps has been recognized as the nation's leading youth training and education initiative for over 60 years.
In this role, you will play a vital part in helping young people achieve their aspirations and fulfill their potential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct outreach initiatives, including public speaking engagements, to ensure a sufficient pool of potential applicants to meet enrollment goals; establish connections with referral sources such as human services agencies, recreational facilities, youth organizations, religious institutions, and educational establishments; reach out to prospective enrollees to discuss enrollment opportunities.
- Achieve monthly targets set by management, encompassing prospecting, processing, and enrolling students.
- Evaluate, confirm, and document applicant eligibility and suitability for the program; enroll qualified applicants who would benefit from the program.
- Regularly review and assess all assigned areas for compliance with contractual obligations and the effectiveness of service delivery to students. Prepare relevant reports.
- Compile applications and documentation for prospective students and review with the Center and DOL Regional Office as necessary.
- Support the center's retention efforts to meet outreach commitment goals; monitor the progress of recruited students and provide necessary support services.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education/Experience Requirements:
A Bachelor's degree or an Associate degree with two years of experience in human services, psychology, counseling, education, social sciences, communications, or a closely related field. Experience working with youth, along with excellent written and verbal communication skills and computer proficiency, is essential. A valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record is required.
