You are often the initial point of contact for patients, embodying the essence of our commitment to exceptional care. Your responsibilities encompass ensuring accuracy and maintaining confidentiality as you gather essential information that supports ongoing communications, electronic medical records, scheduling, billing, and reimbursement processes.
Your Role
In this position, you will:
- Welcome patients, families, and guests both in person and over the phone, facilitating the scheduling of services with the appropriate healthcare provider.
- Evaluate patient information to create or update accounts for individuals seeking services, including walk-ins and emergency cases.
- Register patients by accurately entering demographic and insurance details, while rectifying any discrepancies.
- Coordinate bed placements, reservations, transfers, and discharges as requested by clinical staff.
- Assist patients in understanding their financial responsibilities, setting up payment plans, and completing financial assistance applications.
- Ensure all registration and admission processes are completed accurately, gathering necessary documentation.
- Verify insurance coverage through automated eligibility checks and notify insurance companies of admissions within required timeframes.
- Provide clear directions to various departments and services within the facility.
- Manage appointment scheduling and rescheduling, educating patients about available options.
Qualifications
To be considered for this role, candidates must possess:
- A High School Diploma or GED, or two years of relevant experience in lieu of formal education.
- A minimum of two years of experience in customer service or healthcare settings.
