Position Overview

The Director of Outpatient Services plays a pivotal role in supporting the Chief Clinical Officer by providing strategic leadership to various outpatient departments. This position is essential in fostering engagement, cultivating ownership of departmental and facility objectives, and actively participating in initiatives that positively influence both the hospital and the broader community.

Outpatient departments under this role include:

  • Outpatient Therapy
  • Wound Care Center
  • Sleep Disorders Center
  • Outpatient Diabetes Management Clinic
  • Cardiac and Pulmonary Rehabilitation

The Director will be instrumental in guiding the development, expansion, and transformation of the designated outpatient services. This role reports directly to the Chief Clinical Officer.

Position Type: Full-time, salaried

Qualifications:

Educational Background:

  • A Bachelor's degree in nursing or a related healthcare field is preferred.
  • A Master's degree in Business or Health Administration is required.
  • A minimum of five (5) years of progressive clinical and leadership experience is essential, with a preference for expertise in the relevant service area.

Licensure and Certification:

  • Current licensure in a clinical specialty is required.

Essential Skills and Competencies:

  • Exceptional interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven ability to lead teams and collaborate effectively.
  • Strong critical thinking skills with a demonstrated capacity for collaborative problem-solving and a sense of urgency in achieving goals.
  • Proficiency in computer systems, particularly in Windows and Meditech environments, with a willingness to embrace new technologies.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects while maintaining day-to-day responsibilities.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the capacity to interact positively with diverse personalities, demonstrating tact, maturity, and flexibility.
  • Effective reasoning and decision-making skills, with sound judgment in all aspects of the role.
  • Excellent time management abilities, with a strong sense of initiative and independence.
  • Ability to communicate professionally and effectively in both oral and written formats.

  • Basic computer operating knowledge is required, with experience in Microsoft Office applications preferred.
