About the Role

The Family Advocate Visitation Services position plays a vital role in strengthening families and promoting stability and functioning. As a key member of the Bayview YMCA Family Resource Center team, you will engage and connect families with needed resources and services to support their well-being.

Key Responsibilities
  • Proactively engage with families to identify their needs and connect them with relevant resources and services.
  • Supervise visits between children and birth family members, providing a safe and supportive environment.
  • Document visit notes and maintain accurate records.
  • Collaborate with community partners to ensure seamless service delivery.
  • Provide education and support to families on topics such as parenting, child development, and family stability.
Requirements
  • Minimum 18 years old.
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • 2+ years of experience working with underserved, high-risk, and isolated populations.
  • Understanding of de-escalation techniques, conflict resolution, and personal safety skills and procedures.
  • Ability to work independently and handle multiple projects under tight deadlines.
  • Experience with outreach and advocacy, data collection and management, and social media.
  • Proficiency in using computers and Office 365.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • AA in social work, Child Development, Psychology, Public Health, Health Education, and/or related fields.
  • Early Childhood Development, Parenting support, case management, and program reporting experience.
  • Bilingual skills in Spanish.
  • Experience with Trauma-Informed practices.
