Business Development Associate

Element Materials Technology is seeking a highly motivated and ambitious Business Development Associate to join our team. As a Business Development Associate, you will be responsible for expanding our business with dormant and existing accounts, providing increased touch points for accounts, and engaging in budgeting activity for assigned account lists.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish and proactively maintain a strong professional relationship with key decision makers and influencers within assigned accounts
  • Qualify opportunities with assistance of inbound team / specialists
  • Actively engage in enterprise selling activities in assigned business unit and end market
  • Actively utilize CRM to record activities, ensuring contact details are accurate, duplicates are removed, new information is added and accurate call / visit logs are entered
  • Enter a minimum of 45 opportunities per month into CRM tool
  • Maintain a robust opportunity pipeline of $3-4m, with an average close rate of 60% or higher
  • Actively participate in regular pipeline reviews, ensuring all CRM records are up to date and critical success factors are identified for key opportunities
  • Achieve sales goals by converting and penetrating accounts
  • Identify future growth accounts and transition to Business Development Manager where applicable
  • Perform quarterly strategic business reviews with top assigned accounts
  • Participate in training/coaching opportunities
  • Ensure compliance with all Element policies including but not limited to terms and conditions, trade compliance, treatment of others, moral code of conduct, and employee handbook
  • Engage in customer site visits and the development of visit agenda

Requirements:

  • Approximately 1-2 years of Business Development, Sales or Account Management experience
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as customer quotes / contracts, marketing materials, and customer testing specifications
  • Ability to solve practical customer problems and interpret a variety of instructions, data and details furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
  • A valid driver's license, with an acceptable driving record under Element's policy
  • Experience in interpreting testing procedures and requirements desired
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Applications (Word, Excel)
  • Experience with CRM applications or willingness to learn how to use effectively
  • Availability, flexibility, and maturity to represent the company at a broad range of events / projects in the community, with customers and within the company
  • Helps develops proposals including cost estimates, work plan and terms and conditions
  • Ability to be on-site, at the required lab location, in the performance of daily sales activities
  • Some overnight travel may be required
