The large-scale projects division is responsible for what is commonly recognized as commercial construction, while the service division addresses issues ranging from minor repairs to small, multi-trade projects requiring permits.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Project Engineer role is designed for individuals at the beginning of their careers, offering significant opportunities for advancement within Lehman Daman. This position collaborates with various account managers, estimators, office managers, and superintendents across multiple projects. The Project Engineer will be primarily accountable for managing documentation, including communication with owners, architects, subcontractors, and field personnel. Additionally, this role will support project management and assist in the development of cost estimates.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensure compliance with L/D safety protocols and procedures.
  • Engage with subcontractors and suppliers during the bidding phase.
  • Assist in defining the project scope of work.
  • Facilitate project planning and the execution of activities.
  • Manage documentation processes, including safety records, submittals, drawing logs, RFIs, transmittals, closeout documents, and meeting notes.
  • Coordinate efforts between subcontractors and superintendents.
  • Travel to job sites as necessary, which may include out-of-state assignments.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • Proficient in computer and smartphone applications, particularly Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to respond promptly to requests from clients and superintendents.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Capability to work efficiently in a remote setting.
  • A positive attitude and eagerness to learn are essential attributes.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • 1-2 years of experience in the construction industry is preferred.
  • A minimum of an associate's degree or higher in a construction or engineering-related discipline is required.
