Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Animal Care Specialist to join our team at 77 Consultants. This role is essential in ensuring the well-being of our patients throughout their care journey.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver outstanding and empathetic care for animals from the moment they arrive until they are discharged.
  • Assist veterinarians in various aspects of care, including understanding and implementing treatment plans.
  • Perform all required technical procedures and treatments, adhering strictly to established protocols.
  • Engage professionally with clients and referring veterinarians to ensure clear communication.
  • Maintain precise and thorough records of patient treatment progress and associated charges.
  • Manage inventory, order necessary supplies, and help maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  • Contribute to the training of new staff and volunteers.
  • Participate in educational initiatives and research projects.
  • Undertake additional duties as assigned.
Work Schedule

Hours will vary based on departmental needs.

Qualifications

Requirements may differ by department but generally include:

  • A valid Veterinary Technician's license or permit in New York State.
  • Experience in animal handling and the capability to lift and restrain animals weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • A proven ability to work effectively within a team environment.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and take initiative.
  • Ability to foster and maintain respectful and effective working relationships with all stakeholders.
  • Composure in high-pressure and emergency situations.
