Key Responsibilities:
The Veterinary Specialist will undertake all responsibilities associated with a licensed veterinarian, delivering compassionate and high-quality veterinary services to a diverse array of animals affected by cruelty, neglect, and those at risk.

Work from Sunday to Wednesday, 9 AM to 7 PM.
Primary Duties:
Responsibilities encompass, but are not limited to:
Medical Case Management (80%):
- Deliver high-quality veterinary care to a variety of animals suffering from cruelty and neglect.
- Conduct medical intakes for all new cases admitted through law enforcement and community engagement.
- Formulate effective diagnosis and treatment plans in accordance with established medical guidelines.
- Perform examinations, diagnostic tests, and treatments while employing Fear Free handling techniques.
- Provide individualized care while adhering to population health practices.
- Maintain comprehensive medical records documenting all findings and treatments.
- Ensure the veterinary team practices Fear Free handling methods.
- Collaborate with partner hospitals for advanced care and assess the medical stability of new cases.
- Guide veterinary interns and fellows in their clinical responsibilities.
- Oversee daily census management and ensure effective use of quarantine protocols.
- Assess medical prognosis and make informed euthanasia decisions in accordance with established protocols.
- Address after-hours medical concerns as necessary.
- Keep the leadership team informed about patient progress and case flow.
- Collaborate with partner departments to enhance overall operations.
- Provide exceptional customer service to both internal and external stakeholders.
- Participate in daily rounds to ensure timely assessments and interventions.
- Contribute to a culture of learning and improvement within the organization.
- Assist in training veterinary interns and fellows during their rotations.
- Adhere to ASPCA and departmental standard operating procedures.
- Participate in staff meetings and contribute to special projects as needed.
- Demonstrate a strong commitment to improving animal welfare.

Compensation will be determined based on various factors, including education, experience, and market conditions. The expected salary range for this position is competitive and includes a signing bonus.

- This is a full-time position requiring flexibility for early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
