Job Summary

The Executive Director of Strategic Insights is a key leadership position responsible for driving the development of strategies to address external trends and support product access, affordability, and profitability within the evolving US healthcare environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the development of customer segment strategies and engagement initiatives, including IDNs, GPOs, specialty pharmacies, PBMs, health plans, employers, and new segments emerging in response to market dynamics.
  • Support account teams in direct customer engagement with key employer stakeholders to advance business objectives through approved resources and collaborations aligned with strategic areas, such as specialty medicines, oncology, and prevention through vaccination.
  • Guide the team developing the company's digital channel for payer content and engagement, collaborating with market access/payer marketing teams to implement the Formulary Resource Portal and other transformation initiatives.
  • Advise and navigate complex customers and stakeholders to facilitate effective partnerships, ensuring smooth interactions and collaborations between marketing teams and the company.
  • Deliver a transformative approach to achieve the company's Account Management Vision, collaborating with key account customers to improve health outcomes, explore mutual opportunities, and increase profitable sales.
Requirements
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in marketing, managed markets, sales, market access, or a related function.
  • Minimum of 3 years of people management experience.
  • Strong leadership, strategic business acumen, problem-solving, teamwork, analytical, written/verbal communication, and presentation skills.
  • Expertise in collaboration, influencing without authority, and working successfully with cross-functional teams.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Well-versed in underlying trends in healthcare reimbursement, payment, and coverage in the US, including knowledge of rules and regulations, contract management, and execution.
  • Experience in account management and contracting.
  • Ability to effectively navigate within the HQ environment.
What We Offer

Merck Sharp & Dohme offers a competitive salary range of $243,300.00, bonus eligibility, long-term incentive, health care and other insurance benefits, retirement benefits, paid holidays, vacation, and sick days.
